Valentino Teams Up with Aston Martin
September 11 2019, Aston Martin Vancouver
Created as part of a charity project, the British car brand's Vanquish sports model gets a camouflage revamp
For style connoisseurs, they are motifs that can be spotted at 20 paces:Valentino's signature camouflage prints and micro-spike details, which have adorned trainers and knitwear since design directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli took the reins at the revered Italian house in 2008.
And this week, the designers' new codes of elegance (previously the house was renowned for its timeless scarlet column gowns; now a riotous multi-coloured camouflage takes its place) find a fresh canvas: an Aston Martin Vanquish.
Created as part of a project by Cash & Rocket, an all-female car tour designed to raise funds for charity, the car is the work of a partnership between Valentino and the British car institutions Q by Aston Martin bespoke service, and features the brand's signature khaki and stone camouflage, alongside a dash of metal studs along the body's exterior. The car, which goes up for auction at a charity gala this week, was a perennial in the British car manufacturer's firmament from 2001 until 2007 when it was retired. It was re-launched in 2012 though, when it was termed a "thing of wonder" by our motoring expert at the time. This one-off venture looks set to push the Vanquish into even more fantastical realms, and ensure you take to the roads like a particularly well-heeled urban warrior.
